On July 14, 2022, Comet PANSTARRS (C/2017 K2) will reach its closest approach to Earth: 271 million kilometers (1.8 AU).

Its magnitude during the summer will be approximately 8–8.5, and at the time of writing this text, the comet is located in the southern part of the sky within the constellation Ophiuchus (the Serpent Bearer).

It appears that on July 15, 2022, Comet PANSTARRS (C/2017 K2) will pass very close to the globular cluster M10, potentially allowing for spectacular astrophotography opportunities.

In the Northern Hemisphere, it can be observed under good conditions until around the autumn of 2022.
